_Yeh, I enter team A

The selection for Raffles Cup chinese chess team A ended today. For my 1st 3 games held last week, I did badly. Only manage to obtain 1 win, 1 draw and 1 lose after playing 3 matches. I was quite disappointed with my performance and started mugging the chess manual. Today, I have 3 straight victories and got into team A. The section leader of chinese chess was kicked into team B. I was back to my top form during my 2nd match, performing a perfect combo kill (means got so many killing angles that the opponent can't block) within 25 steps. The form carried on to the 3rd round which I gained 2 pieces within 20 steps and then another unblockable finish within 25 steps. With 4.5 points after 6 games, I entered team A with 2nd highest score. This implies that my 2nd medal will be coming soon after the competition held in the 2nd week of holiday. Hope to get 1st this time.
The president was very serious today. Halfway through the selection, he told us to go to the classroom next door together with Mr Ong. There were a lot of scoldings. He said that we didn't play our games seriously during the trainings. Too many free seeds were given away. He also said that our schools including VJC and HCJC were training very hard now. And they even have the advantage of a coach. So if we thought that we could easily get at least a silver again in Raffles Cup, stop dreaming. Our school also didn't get us a coach because the principal don't care whether we win chess competition. She only interested in sports like canoeing...(a few more). But winning chess competition is better because we use our brain to win and not by physical. He then said that he would increase our amount of training and whoever not interested can walk out of the room now (which none of us did of course). He also wanted us to do additional stuff like doing warm-up and cool-down from that training on, which we discovered that it was just staring at a chess board with all the pieces at starting position for 5 mins. He said that this is to train our concentration so that we will not give free pieces again. Feel a bit like idiot when we actually did that.
Tomorrow, my dad will be going for the grand finale for scholars of scholars and my team will be having the design a game competition oral presentation. Hopefully, I will be able to post more good news tmr.
